Well there's a powerline access road that pretty much runs beside the Chute Lake road. I drove a 6 km section of it this morning on the south end and it was near the limit of what my 4 by 4 Blazer could handle. Some parts of it are better though more like a normal FSR.

Your not going to want to drive your car up the power lines. I have been up there by Quad and it would be pretty harry in a truck.

Gilard forestry road is what you are looking for. Drive up Lakeshore until the road forces you to turn right. DO NOT TURN RIGHT. Go straight up the hill. When you get to the rock quarry hang a left. That is Gilard forestry road. Follow this quite a ways up the hill until you see a 4 way. Turn Right and you will be on the KVR which will take you right to Chute Lake where the power lines run to.

Hope this helps and good luck.
