After almost 30 mornings some unreal opportunities that I couldn't quite make work i was able to sweet talk this guy in on Wed morning.

And yes he did break off his left side right above the brow tines but it was sometime before I shot him.

This is where he landed after going all jelly legged and falling off of the point of rock above. about a fall of nearly 60 feet.
Yeah I was a little tired after it was all done.

He answered the bugle from a distance. Then when I got within about 70 yards I gave a few cow calls with my diaghram call and he came trotting in. He had a few cows and I believe that they were just about to bed down because they were in some really thick willow.

Congratulations and well done, IMHO any animal taken with a compound or long bow is the greatest trophy possible.

Thanks for all of the great comments guys. Elk hunting is what I love to do. With just under two weeks left in the season I am trying to convince my wife to come out with me to see if we can get her an elk as her first big game animal.
