On Sept. 27, 3 days into an LEH hunt in 7-24, I called this Bull into a large slash above me ( i was on a small hill in the middle of a lower slash glassing for almost two hours before making two cow calls sometime before sunset). About 3/4 of an hour before dark, I spotted him trying to get a look in my direction and I managed to get to about 300 yards of him and Bull gunted a couple of times to get him to move closer and between the only possible opening of trees in the ridgeline between my lower slash and him (below pic is roughly were I took my shots from). He took two shots through the ribs with 180 grain Remington Core Lokt bullets from my British 303 and then just stood there for at least 5 minutes before finally bedding down and then rolling over about 5 minutes after that. From my angle on the bottom of the hill, I could only see the tip of one side of his rack. After focussing on this for 10 minutes to make sure it didn't move, I climbed up the hill to see my Bull. I know I am truely lucky to have got such a nice looking Bull.
This was my second Moose trip and my first time harvesting one.

I shared the meat with the guys hunting with me as they were a BIG help in getting the moose back to camp. All totalled, the moose hung just shy of 800 lbs at the butcher. Great experience and great eats!

Also are some photos from my trail cam next to the gut pile of my buddy's 3X3 moose he took in the morning of the 27th, same day I got mine. No G-Bears, but some cool looking wolves.

Congrats, that is a really nice bull. Are you wearing a starfish or a jellyfish on your head in the first picture?
