Bagged and tagged this morning. Chased this guy around for a while yesterday, went back out again today for more. Not much of a story, found him about 8:00am hangin' out with a bunch of does. Funny thing, he had his nose down and was giving chase to one girl in particular. Little early for love games. Anyhoooo, after a few minutes, he finally was away from the others to present a shot. Down he went. If you look at the one pic ( side-view ) closely, you can see where he went to war with a cat. Another 1/2" he woulda been toast. Had a few other puntures from the fight as well. Had a little ground shrinkage, thought he was bigger, still happy with him :-P.

Not sure about the mounting, put a "very rough" tape on him. Net 142 and change with 6-plus inches of deduc's. Cape was no good from the cat's throat slash, maybe just a skull mount.

I was thinking the cat marks on the cape would "add" to the mount:cool:.

I'd mount that all day long!. I agree with SSS the slash would make an even better mount. I mounted a bear taken in the NITNAT a couple of yrs ago. The guy that did the mount counted 9 holes in his head and had 4 claw marks across his nose.

Beautiful buck BBA! For sure I'd get that bad boy on the wall - the scratches add character and a story! Was he near the one you videoed last week?

Anytail shot a muley last weekend that had some scratches on his hinds, we figure he shook a cat off too.

He hadn't been with the buck I got video...until yesterday. Got a little bit of footage, not very good quality, but if I get a chance to upload to youtube, I'll add it to the thread.

That's a great buck, if you're not going to mount it atleast keep the cape to stick on another bigger head, or sell it.

OK here is some video of him yesterday morning, quality not the best. He was about 300-400 yards away hangin' with some of his friends.

Beautiful buck BBA, by the looks of the video footage (5 whitey bucks in a meadow in the daylight) Id say you got from yer buddies deer farm again???
You might want to get that cat before he cleans out your deer supply!
Very nice deer, I too like the scars on the cape, very unique!

Im thinking something like this would be fitting!
