A co-worker sent me this photo of his bro inlaw's region 3 cougar from a few years back. Pretty awesome set up with the dual mount. I was told that this cougar ranked pretty high in the record books but have no way to back that up. 224 lbs 9' 3"

Why is that cougar trying to have sexual relations with that buck? I smell a new hybrid debate coming on. Nahhh just fooling ya..... very sweet mount indeed.

9'3" stretched out on the ground maybe. Give er another tug and it might go 10' Heck I'll help, we can make it 11'.
7'9" is an absolute ****ing toad, most big cats are 7'6"-7'8".
Cats get thicker, not longer. A 160lb cat is the same frame as any other cat without the genetics to make up that extra muscle.
I'd believe it in a picture on the scale but thats it. If that cat was 224lbs he needs to question his taxidermist because cougar forms dont come that size, they need to use a jaguar form. Although a good feed can be a major contributing factor to a live weight too.

Either way, definately a mount you dont see every day.

Here is a 185lb cat

X2 on all accounts. An old timer friend of mine has been in on close to 150 cat kills - heaviest was 199 lbs with 3 raccoons in its belly. Biggest I've been in on was 179 lbs and 7'6", and was an absolute hog.

224 and 9'3" would, as BTS said, be a strrrrrrrrrrrrrrretch. ;)

Well I can't say much either way cause I've never really studied this one other than the pic you have before you, he did mention record book so I'll dig a little more at work and ask for some more "official" proof in the pudding. Anyhow the back of the pic said 224 and 9'3" so I assumed it refers to the Coug. Maybe he was including the front legs stretched out who knows. Back with more info when I have some.

Depends, you dating her  ?

BCBear record book stats will be skull size.
He very well may be a high ranking skull no doubt, heck even some of the dinky 150lb cats on V.I make book. Body size is no indication of how big of a melon a cat will have at all.

The proper way to measure head to tail on any animal is lay it on its back (prior to skinning) and perform the measurement.
