View Full Version : Back from moose hunt

Got back last Friday night from moose hunting up north with my three buddies. We had good success getting bulls on day 2, day 4 and day 6 of our 16 day adventure. Each of us had a bull draw, but after the third bull was down, it was decided that we had more than enough to eat between us and that we would not shoot a fourth animal. Besides, our meat house was full with no room to store anymore animals. Of course I was the one who did not get to shoot a moose. All of the bulls were meat bulls, but one had a funny split antler.

After getting the animals we just had fun fishing, grouse hunting and riding the ATVs exploring. I did make a good "shot" on this grouse though.

Tomorrow we start the butchering and hopefully I'll be out duck hunting by the weekend.

excellent shot on the grouse,,i know that's not an easy one to get. nice job on getting your moose too

looks like some very good eating bulls. Where abouts up north were you?

Congrats on the 3 kills. Thats a lot of meat, sounds like a great spot.

I saw a couple of nice bull racks tied to some Quads on a trailer, heading up Island on Friday morning. Was that you guys passing through Nanoose area about 10.30 am?

We came back on the ferry on Friday. All the meat was in the meathouse on our trailer, but the antlers were in the back of one of the pickups. Lots of good comments at the ferry terminal, really.
