Since Brett filled his LEH bull draw on Wednesday, and didnt supply the obligatory pics, Moosinaround and I decided to head out this morning for a quick hunt to show him how its done ;)

Mike picked me up at 0530 this morning, and we headed into our usual area. A nice drive and conversation later, we agreed on a location to start from.

Pulling up the road, we notice a headlamp standing near the middle of the road and a camp. We stop to say hi and recognize HBC member 'Bill Dance'. We chatted with him for a bit, and asked which direction he was headed.

After a brief chat, we told him that we would head another direction and not interrupt his planned hunt ( I KNOW- who does that?! :) )

Turning the truck around, we now had to think on the fly...hmmm...so many locations and so close to shooting light. Driving down a main line, we see a set of headlights coming towards us, so we pull over as the vehicle passes.

CRASH, SNAP!!! ...Mike and I look at each other...yep, that came from the bush.

We quickly jump out of the truck and grab our rifles.....Waaaaaauuuuuhhhhhhh!!!

Mike lets out a cow call to see if there's any interest back...

Nothing.

5 minutes later, we decide to jump back in and head to an area where we can walk into.

300 yards down the road, Mike looking left, me looking right....MIIIIIIIKEEEEE!!!!!! HOLY F*&*KKKK!! LOOK AT THE ANTLERS! BULLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!! ( then I yelled stop...I know, adrenaline spikes are an evil thing sometimes)

Slamming on the brakes, slamming it into park, slamming one into the chamber, Mike is out and ready to rock.

A quick ID with my binos and I confirmed that this was a big bloody bull!!

BOOM !! Mike sent a 150grain TSX from his trusty 300Win Mag flying 89 yards to meet a double-lung penetration.

BANG! FLOP!!!

After the woohoos, high-fives and congrats, we walked over to meet his bull. Definately no ground shrinkage on this one.

9x8 with a tri-palm and slight dropper on one side.

This was one weathered warrior- His ears were ripped, his body was scarred and his teeth were worn down.

A quick phone call to Brett, and we had an extra 2 sets of hands to help with the loading.

Congrats again Mike on one hell of a bull!!!!!

Well, I just finished the skinning, and hanging! Holy!!!! A spike fork is WAY easier!!! This guy lives up to his name!!! When I was skinning him out he was bruised all over the front half!! He had healed scars, his ears were torn up, and had some broken tips on the antlers!! I sure hope he was the winner, cause if he lost the other bull was Pretty big!!! Brett and I have been chasing this guy for a few weeks now. He was pretty cagy, but my horny cow call, and bull grunts got the best of him!!!;-) I did find the bullet too!! The TSX is totally intact, all the petals are perfectly formed, and the blood shot meat was very slight!! 150gr!!?? Still can't believe it!! Well I have some time to recuperate, then it is out to get my son a deer!! Moosin
