Well not to much of a story just being in the right place at the right time, that morning there were elk bugling every where,i couldn't even begin too count how many elk there was that morning, my son shot his first about 150 yd. shot,i told him i was going to carry on because there was elk still bugling,i went another ten mins. when my elk step out about 100 yards.now we have two elk on the ground, even after i shot mine there was still elk bugling,
The Elk were taken from the 4-22 area up high in the mountains, the first bull 6x7 scored 319 net and mine went 310 net.Green score.it'll be a day i'll never forget

Great job....

Thank your local logging company for opening that valley up! Congrats.

Good example of the result of timing for those hunters that are having trouble tagging a bull.....keep going back to these spots and eventually things will work out.

This place is by no means a secret and gets hunted by locals and the outfitter pretty hard......timing timing timing.

Saturday morning (Oct.10th)

And still bugling! I'm not too knowledgebale about EK elk and the rut but that's interesting. I would have thought that the bugling would have dropped off by now.

Still, good job.

Congratulations guys. Those are beautiful bulls. I love father and son hunts. Told Marty & Dave that when I get too old to pull my wrinkled old ass up to a game trail that they carry me there and just prop me up with my rifle.
This is an experience your grandsons will be talking about long after you're gone.
