looking for some info on whitetails around kamloops. Never hunted them, seen a couple but I always hear they are moving in around town in force. Anyone recomend a direction to head out of town and what sort of area(wooded, open, decidious etc) and hunting technique (spot stalk, road hunt, blind) to use...

Thanks in advance

Hunting tactics for whitetails are very different from mule deer. For starters whitetails are territorial and therefore easier to pattern. As for tactics there are many that can be successfully employed. Here (http://www.othmarvohringer.com/article_index.html) and here (http://whitetaildeerpassion.blogspot.com/) you will find a lot of useful information about whitetail deer hunting tactics. Blinds and treestands work best on whitetails. Stalking can be though as whitetails are bit spookier then mule deer.

Whitetails can be found almost anywhere between Merritt and Kamloops. They inhabit a variety of habitats with river bottoms being the preferred. Also look at, or close to, agricultural land and open areas with small woodlots.
