Checked out a new spot on Saturday. In my tree stand by 4:00 pm. Started calling at 5:00. Got a bull coming at 5:30. Had him at fifteen yards by 6:15. Put an arrow through both lungs. Thirty seconds later I had a lot of work on my hands for an older guy by himself.

An old bull with one paddle broken off from fighting, but hard to turn down a sure thing. The intact side is 28" wide.

I'm learning from RockSteady, don't take all day getting it done.

Great job!

Must have been a hell of a task by yourself.

What broadhead were you using?

What broadhead were you using?

I've been using those useless, disspicable, worthless Spitfire expandables for years. I just don't tell the animals they don't work, and they fall over.

Thanks, I just like to know what people are using on the bigger animals. Most of those that complain about a particular broadhead, didn't hit the animal where they thought they did. :D

Thanks for the compliment (I think)...at least you are learning from my good qualities (Early bird gets the worm, one in the hand is worth 2 in the bush, ) rather than others (Like when I screwed up my application for elk and got drawn fro Campbell River in December)...

Nice bull, especially using a sharp stick....Must be one hell of a adrenaline rush, I know it is on elk, and mooses are just that much bigger...

Lots of good grits on that boy....

Impressive bow hunting resume you have! Congrats.

I have 2 tree stands which should be getting more use than they're getting the last couple years.

Wow nice bull. That must have been a ton of work by yourself.

It was off a deactivated road and well out into an overgrown block. With some saw work I could get a quad to it, but still had to quarter him. I skinned it at night so it could cool, so trying to skid him whole was out.

My arms and shoulders were sore the next day from wrestling the quad through the tight stuff. I felt like I used to feel when I packed them miles on my back. I think I'm gonna shoot little ones from now on. Big moose look real impressive standing in front of you, but they just look heavy and disheartening, lying down dead.http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon9.gif
