Well this story is a little late, been to busy with work and hunting to find my camera cable and put some pic's up, but here's the story. Short and sweet.
It started out with a nice afternoon/evening elk hunt after work. Got up into a nice logging block and see 2 cow elk standing on the road. Started looking around and see a real nice bull standing on the tree line at about 300 yards. I start to count points and was 95% sure it was legal. Right as I counted the 6th point he turned and walked away into the bush... :( My heart sank to my toes...
After I pulled myself together I pulled out my cow call and start cow calling out to him. Within 45 seconds out of the bush and down the cut block he come's. I continued to cow call and count points and was 100% sure he was a six. Now all I needed was a decent shot angle. I cow called a few more time's and he kept coming in closer and closer. At about 60 yards he walked out on to the road and turned broadside and the 30-06 hammered him through the lungs. The bull turned back around and slowly walked 20 yards into the cut block and layed down. :) BULL DOWN!!!!
