So my cousin from PG and his buddy got here at 6 pm on the first with an leh for flat top elk and we sat in the kitchen for 10 minutes and BS`d and I said we better roll if you want to find a good camp spot and some nice places to hunt.I took them out where I showed Hunter 1911 and we found a great camp spot and on the way back in I spotted a fat cow elk on a spur road.Bang! She`s hanging in my garage now. They are wandering around looking for whities now.
12 hour drive to get here and the main hunt is done within 2 hours.I`m real happy for them (and Me cause I get a 1/4!)We were ass tired by the time we got her all done up and they got to sleep in,I had to pour a house foundation the next morning with 4 hours sleep.
But I would rather be lucky than good:smile:I`d post a picture but every body knows what a cow elk looks like.

This is what a 475 lb (dressed) cow elk looks like in the back of a '91 Ford Explorer... yes, it is the Eddie Bauer edition guys... special blood resistant leather and all.

Little update,my cousin got a nice 5x5 whitie yesterday and they saw several more last night so they are having a quick morning hunt then back to P.G.today.Good thing they brought a trailer, lots of meat to transport.
I was going to hunt with them on Sunday but decided to cut and wrap a front 1/4 of their elk for my freezer instead.
