Heading up to 5-3 on Saturday from the Island. Will be towing a travel trailer 21' with a 4x4. Just wondering how the road is past the Gang Ranch, over the Gaspard bridge then onward on the 2700 Rd. I've heard there has been quite a bit of rain recently, and I know that stretch of road can get quite slick, and it's steep. Any thoughts? Is the long range forecast indicating dry weather?

I was just in there from the 19th-25th with our group, well not on 2700. Roads were great from the gang. We took the 2800 onto 2200 then 2900 till we got to our spot by the lake. We were towing a 21' trailer modified with a camper on it as well as a second vehicle towing a suzuki. It was very dry there when we were in there. A forest fire started right near 2900 heading North East towards 2800, right behind our camp. We saw 3 moose taken out of the area that we were hunting, 6 cows, no deer, and lots of grouse.
Sorry I can not help you about the area recently. Hope that that helps a bit.
Good Luck,

Tyler

Came down through the 2700 last Fri the 25th. The upper Gang was the driest i have seen it in years. The sign said active hauling from the top end of the 2700 at the 2200 but saw no trucks and couldn't raise anyone on their Posted radio Freq. Upper end over the top from 2200 was the smoothest I have ever seen. They are(were) hauling out of the same road on top they have been using for the last few years so nop suprizes. Lower end heading to gang is same old, same old, except none of the potholes are holding their usual water. All in all the rd was in good enough shape that a little wet shouldn't bother it too much. Good luck on your hunt.
