This video is only 15 seconds long but it was taken in at Anmore.Part of the story that is missing from the video is that this blackbear has two cubs and came across this doe and fawn. The fawn was killed and the two cubs were having a feast. The doe was injured during the attack and after the fawn was killed the video caught whar happened next.Hopefully this video link:razz:

Quite a video. In Anmore...wow!
Maybe that is one group of bears that won't be enticed into getting into garbage.
Thanks for posting.

Good video

Maybe all the Latte sipping North Shore Yuppies will have to accept the fact that nature isn't as " Disneyland story book" pretty as they thought.

I don't think the guppies across the water will hear about it .

A friend of mine was out this weekend and whitnessed a bear chasing a doe and fawn across an FSR. He said that he never seen a bear move so fast. He is not sure of the end result as they disappeared into the bush at full tilt.

They are amazingly strong creatures, and the anti's wonder why we carry big sticks :roll:

Likely seen by many before, but a good example of just strong they are.

Amazing. I once watched a blackie take a road kill deer off the highway just south of Port Hardy. It was the same type of scenario. He was off the shoulder of the road and the deer was in the middle of the highway. He was a little shy about coming onto the road when I was sitting there in my patrol car but just couldn't pass up a meal like that and finally came out to the middle of the road, rollled the deer onto it's back and bit it right across the brisket. You could hear the ribs popping. He just hauled it off the side of the road and disappeared into the bush with it. Big deer for Island standards and a small to medium bear for Island standards. Didn't even break a sweat.
