Just a FYI. Talked to a Conservation Officer and he informed me that "noosing" is illegal, and a chargeable offence. He recently was involved with a court case where somebody was charged as a result of noosing.

Please follow these rules so it isn't closed down.

Steeleco, "noosing" is the term used for making a noose or lasso and putting it around the sturgeons peduncle (wrist area by their tail/caudal fin) or pelvic area.

It has become problematic because fish are dragged backwards to shore and it drowns them through their gills. It also cuts off circulation to their tail and can cause tissue damage.

Thank you Dirty, I didn't know that. It always bothers me when you see the "pro's" on the tube lifting fish with their hands compressing their guts.I can see how the "nosing" could do damge in much the same way.

It's all kosher. If you only got to spawn once a year, you would gladly take all the inappropriate touching you could get.
