A while back I posted a photo of my son with the elk he bagged. Well yesterday it was MY turn! No trophy this year, but it should taste great..

Geez, you guys are getting some good elk hunting up there. I think If I lived anywhere else in the province that would be my destination for an elk hunt.

Congrats. I agree with Brambles. Story is kinda short.

So I guess everyone is looking for a story...
My son dropped me off at my hunting area early in the morning and I hiked into my blind, cow calling as I went. I climbed up and proceeded to bugle. On my second attempt I heard a loud CRACK...this was no squirrel!
Looking through my binoculars, I spotted antlers coming my way. After two more cow calls, there he was only some 25 meters from my stand.
The .338 Win. Mag. "barked" and down he went. After several hours of field dressing, skinning, and cutting I still had a 2 hour hike back to my little spike camp where my son was scheduled to pick me up the next day. With the hot weather and almost complete lack of bugling in our area it was hard hunting this year (this was my 13th day of elk hunting this Fall). I guess, finally, persevearance paid off in the end...

That is the most perfectly simetrical elk rack I have seen. I haven't seen a lot of them but from the pics it looks to be a mirror immage.
