With all the home renos in full swing..and sleeping on a foamy in the basement ..I am very busy..however for the many many individuals headed this way for hunting we got FROST last night..I was up around 4 am and was extremelly happy to see the frost everywhere in downtown THE POND..

So the moose should be starting to rut heavily..and the deer should start to move more during the shooting hours..

TRY CALLING if you have a moose tag...

cheers and straight shooting

Steven:-D

Yeah... for this Vancouver-Islander the 'first-frost' rules for gettin' that 'huntin' spirit' into my bones each fall!
Used to be the ripening of the Mountain Ash berries on the tree outside my bedroom window (and all the Robin's pigging-out on em' and then -drunk- flying into windows) but my new neighbor cut the tree down last year...

Took two bulls (2.5 & an Immy)out of 5:4 last week. Was 32 degrees at 1 PM on wed the 23rd at 5000'. Fortunatley we had met a group from the Island who had brought a portable cooler with them that they were kind enough to let us use. Had frost Fri. morning when we left.

For those of you from the area I noticed whitetails are open in 5-13. Are they just a hail mary or are there actually some of them out there? I was in 5-04 a few years ago and we didn't see any whitetail in the ten days that we were there.
