Hey there,
I have a question.
I have an 870 Express 3". With a 4 different chokes. I know I can shoot steel out of the improved cyl and the mod. and the skeet. What about the full?
I thought no steel through full choke?

Thanks for the help!

No on the Skeet too... the Skeet is tighter then the Full!

Never Mind. I took the choke tube out of the gun and it says full lead or steel.
But that is interesting on the skeet. Thanks.

Skeet is more open the I/C, only sightly tighter then cylinder, you have no worries shooting it.

Not sure where you came up with that but you might want to take a read here.

Skeet is more open then a modified choke. but less then cylinder.

There is a lot of misconseptions about steel shot and chokes. Most guns shoot a modified choke well for steel but you can go tighter especially with the smaller shot sizes ( less than bb). I had a browning gold which shot very good patterns with a Imp. Modified choke with all shot sizes tested. Every gun is different so you have to pattern the shells you use to see what happens. Change brands or loads or shot size and you can get a radicle difference.
I found the same with hevishot.

I gotta appologize, I bought a extra full choke for trap shooting and the salesman called it a skeet choke.

Thanks for the info Marc
