Mowson via the Hurley

Anyone been up around Mowson or Person ponds lately? Want to go for a day hunt and just wondering if the fires we got earlier this year got this area and if its worth the trip, mind u road trips are always fun.

Fire allegedly beagn in the Mawson Pond are burned up over the hilllside towards Tyaughton, over the top towards Marschall and pretty weel the whole north face of Carpenter Lake is gone...Black that is...

I've been hunting up in that particular spot for the last 15 yrs. This is the first year that I will stay out. Very few animals seen by locals. The earth has been absolutely scorched. At first glance it looks like massive beetle kill but then you realize there is no undergrowth, no vegetation. Give it a rest for this season and set your sites for next year. Just my 2cents.
