Last year I shot a fairly decent Caribou in velvet. I peeled off the velvet as it was damaged in his fall and now the antlers are grey and weathered looking. If I sand off the discoloration, is there a stain available to make them the natural color again?

Potassium Permanganate. Disslove and brush on.
If you want some lighter tips, don't stain them.
Takes a little practice

You can get it from any pharmacy. Buddy of mine painted his caribou antlers white first as he was told by a taxidermist it would work better but I don't know if it would actually make much difference. I believe the more layers you put on the darker the antlers will get. Personally I would test it out on a shed first, play around to get the color that works best. No sanding required.
