First Bird of the Season

Finally got out for some chicken hunting and came home with a prize :) Ruger flushed up a second one but we weren't quick enough on the draw. Tim was the successfully shooter so that put me on camera duty for the annual 'first bird' photograph.

Just love those pups! Bird hunting with a dog has always been my favorite.
Out Paradise road was always hot for birds and bunnies when I lived there.

congrats on the first bird of the year. Great looking pup. Hunting with a good dog is where it is at, the shooting is secondary to the watching a good dog work birds

I agree, riflebuilder! I get a lot of satisfaction out of watching the dogs work, and seeing that big proud smile on their face when they return with a bird, well, that's incentive to sharpen up my shooting skills :)
