I just got mine, I think it's important to fill them out, it gives the gov't a better idea as to what is taken and what kind of time is put in. I do wonder though if the huggers with a licence fill their's out???

I don't mind filling them out but only for the tags/animals that I have hunted. I got a migratory one this year and I don't even have a license!

I think it is mandatory for guides to report all of their clients harvests. I could be mistaken though?

You have to fill out your harvest questionaire.

How can a government body manage wildlife if they don't have data.

LEH is not the focus of the questionaire, it is unfortunately a by-product of it. (managing hunters instead of wildlife)

My biggest concern with it is that it isn't thorough enough. They don't bother to ask what weapon I use, or what season I hunt in. These factors can have an impact at Hunting opportunity committee sessions and should be gathered.

If you look at other jurisdictions, they can pretty much tell you everything about hunter and wildlife data, while in BC, the response is "insufficient data collected". We have to start collecting more data.

As a hunter I think everyone should take the 2 minutes to fill it out. It gives the gov. the info to make changes to the regs. and maybe one day the regs will go in our favour instead of eveyone else. Just my 2 cents!

and the migritory duck/goose questionare!? it asks me to list the days that i hunted ducks and how many did i kill? how in the $%^& could i remember all the times i went out for ducks and on what days?! and now the upland game birds thing asks me about all the different grouse i shot?! i couldn't count the grouse and to remeber where the hell i got them? man it makes me crazy! i want to fill this stuff out but damn it!

Start a journal and log everyday you go out. You know you're going to get a questionair in the mail or at least I've had one ever since I moved here 3 years ago.

As an Angling Guide in Reg 7 you have to report:

- # of clients for each day
- where the are from
- waters fished that day
- species
- # of fish released
- # of fish killed
- total #
Of each fish killed -
- length
- weight
- male or female
- comments

I haven't gotten these before (2nd year hunting...), so do they expect them back anytime soon?? There's still duck and goose seasons open for a good while, aren't there? It would seem logical that they'd either send them at the beginning of the season, so you could keep track on the forms, or after the seasons close, so getting the forms wouldn't affect your hunting behaviour. Sending them halfway through the season just seems daft...

I started doing that a few years back. Lets me keep track of what's going on in the few areas I keep pounding, as far as logging road access etc.
