Day hunts is what I can do once in a while so hunting out of my place on the n shore I stay on that side of the Thompson rivers -- 1120 ft level @ river or go up sometimes to Greenstone/Cherry/Duffy
Drive no more than an hour and a half one way, hunt then 1.5 hour back
Maybe drive an hour out then hunt your plan made up at home or cafe
studying maps and ridges and marshes and more.
When done a hunter realizes the enormous size of the region all around :o
Hour out hour back on gravel, pavement and then gravel one hour driving max

Now is figuring which one do I pick and why
Priorities rule
Let's have an example --- ?

Stuart Creek above Whispering Pines on Jamieson Creek fsr about 14 km up from Westsyde road -- 1000 metres elevation -- above Black Pines --
on the Jamieson Range -- all hooks up to Stuart Lake -- Whitewood Creek --
Or go up Bob Creek instead the other side of Jamieson creek road up Bob
Or Brown and or Wentworth creek to boot --
or the Rea Lake road into Meighan Lakes
Do you have any ideas on a decent comfortable no hurry day trip that gets you into a honey hole and a honey crueler with a hot mocca on the way
Westsyde road or behind Batchelor Hill ? Hey what about Cherry Creek ? Tranquille ? Red Lake ?
Jel -- day hunts out of Kammy -- moose mule deer or whitetail --+++++--

Good job, J-Lo. Keeping leading them away and they'll follow like lemmings leaving my mountain ghostlike and unbothered.

You know where I'd go , the same place a went last weekend . I can tell you where I saw grouse both days. As far a deer we'd have to hike a bit , they are still a little scarce at this time of year. That might be problem anywhere close to Kamy unless your climbing?

Just spent 3 days up near Greenstone Mt. Saw about 20 does in total and 2 bucks. One was a nice 2 pointer that was in the same place, same time every day. Also saw a spiker nearby. Could have taken them out, but its not october yet. And quite frankly I'd like to put in the time and find that 4 or more pointer.

Where are all the 4 pointers hanging out in 3-19 & 3-18?

Did loads of hiking around and saw tonnes of sign. Game trails all over the place, droppings galore and not a single sighting of mulies while hiking. Its a little frustrating because I like hiking and putting in my time, but I saw more mulies while driving around. I got up at the crack of dawn and scoped out a few cut blocks in the morning. Saw a few mulies crawling around. Hiked during the day in anticipation of bumping anything that might be bedded down. And then scoped/drove around cut blocks at dusk.

I'm in Vancouver and can't make it up to that area all the time. I have access to a cabin there, might be able to get in there again near the end of october. If anyone is willing to help a newbie out and show me some tricks, that would be great. Feel free to PM.

Don't need honey holes, just need tips on what to do.

That would make total sense and YES, a good day hunt up Chase Creek or into the Paxton Valley across from Monte Lake area. Miller and Piller
Now it's clear Crystal and we got a day hunt outta here.
Southern part of mu 3-37 has ridges with nice mule deer on those ridges --
Could see some @ Scotch Creek logging roads sure too far out there for a day hunt, No Scotch too far for day hunt but Chase and over to Piller or Monte Lake or Pinaus Lake - Ingram hey things could get stranger lol -
Jel - keep it to the speed limit out of town and slower--slippery when wet -
Farthest out of Kammy

Scotch creek is definatly not too far for a day hunt. I drive that almost 5 times a week. And I believe he said north of scotch creek. The other north Jelvis lol.

Hey Bobby Jr. I'm from Abbotsford and am planning on hunting up in those MU's this upcoming 2011 season for deer. If your looking for a hunting partner let me know and we can hint together. If you still have acess to a cabin up there that would be great and I would drive, let me know if your interested
