So today Buckwheat and I take to the hills for a day run to our little spot in Reg 8. Saw 2 nice young moose that had three points on one side but wouldn't show us the other side. I'll have to try again when they're open and give it some extra effort.

Anyhow, the kid tagged out on Ditch chickens and actually let me shoot 2 for myself. He was able to connect on a smallish but nice bear 15 min after the one week anniversary of him getting his deer.

He's making me poor on tags alone, but I'm not complaining :smile:

He's a lean 5 footer, but I'm sure he will taste good.

Nope no rugs from this dude. It was in good shape, but a little too small for that. Besides "We've got enough already" Mom's words!!
The next rug will be from my daughters bear!!!!

Nice work pops on leading the way for the boy but...such a beautiful hide and no rug?? Just do the tanning and it'll be a fraction of the cost.

The hole on the other side, tipped the scale, plus is was stinking hot in the bush. I have a feeling there will be more

Mmmm, pepperoni. That does sound better than a rug any day.

WOW! A bear too! Congrats Shane, looks like you're a killing machine this year. So what's next??? Tell your ol' man that tags are cheap compared to the savings in the grocery bill you are providing. ;)
