I'm going to be hunting Mule and Whitetale deer in the region 8 area come the first week of October. I saw in the synopsis that the area is open for spike/fork bull moose. Is it worth getting a tag for one or is it far enough into the season that they would have grown a bigger rack by then?

All the spikes will have grown massive racks by now, no point in buying a tag

That was some funny shiiiiiiiiit in so many ways. Most of my skeleton jokes are too dirty......the other ones are all burried deep in the closet.
Buy a tag for sure!! The rack they have today will be the same shape and size in October less the velvet.
I thought someone should speak up.

Thanks for the info Phil, I've only hunted moose once and it was an LEH cow/calf tag in the Kamloops area awhile back. Racks weren't the priority.

I just got back from my little spot in Reg 8. Early this morning, we spotted 2 young bulls, 3 on one side and they never gave me a good clear look at the other side. But I'm real certain on was a 2 point. So certain I'm going back on the 23rd for three days to make sure.
Short story long, Get a tag, it's only money!!!

Most spikes harvested in region 8 appears to be taken in the high country.
Good luck !
