Ditto Steeleco, The GPS thing has been torn apart and put back together many times. Garmins GPSmap CSX all the way.

I've used most of them. Garmin IS #1 in recreational GPS. I bought the Garmin Rhino 520 this year. Fantastic tool. You don't need the 530.

higher end E-trex series...... and any of the 60 series by garmin!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup I like the Oregon. Easy to use, big screen, fast.

You said the best. If that is the case the Garmin CSX should be considered as such. It is still the one that a lot professional reviewers still use for comparision and benchmark when reviewing new handheld models of GPS

Any of the "x" series Garmins will be a best buy.
