might be a newbie question.

I have completed my PAL course, and passed with 96%, I just sent away the forms to get my card. I photocopied my course repot which has the info saying i passed, with my instructors signature and all that jazz.
what I'm wondering is if this will be sufficient for hunting until I get my card?

I can use a friends gun until i get my card and buy my own gun, what do you think? I think i'll stop by the CO office and ask tomorrow if i get a chance.

I strongly suggest that you call the Canadian Firearms Centre and ask them. Make sure you get the name/ID of the person who says yes (or no). Perhaps they can put a rush on it. There are a lot of people here with a lot of history and ideas. In the end it is your licence and your name. Go to the right people for the info.

Just cause you passed the course does not mean you get the license. They still do all the background checks, etc..

I would say no, unless you're under the gun owners direct supervision. Theres a 28 day waiting period and you dont have a PAL until you have been issued a PAL number.

You can hutn wiht your buddy if he supervises you. No PAL needed for that, just a HL

This is correct. If you don't want/can't be under your friends supervision then you need your PAL.
