After a fairly successful weekend with my Dad and brothers, my wife and I decided to go out for one last half day( we could use another four Coho for smoking and wanted another three to give to friends and family) before I become totally involved with the hunting season.
The Mrs. got the first one, fifteen minutes into the trip, around 10#, Dryden got a 8.5# feeder spring next. After we had six in the boat, I was happily in the lead with a 13#er. We lost number seven. The wife bumps me by a half pound on number eight. Dryden's up set because, even though he got to reel in three fish, daddy's fish is still bigger. So I tell him we'll troll to the end of the wall to the beach and if we hook another one, he can handle it all by himself. Five minutes later. Whamo!....... fish on! I hand Dryden the rod and tell him to walk to the front of the boat while we get the rest of rigging in. Thinking no biggy if he loses it we already have the seven we came for. But he must have been watching his father handle fish and picked up a technique or two cause he landed that sucker with his mom only barely hanging on to rod with two fingers. Yep you guessed it fourteen pounds. Dad had to settle for third place. I think next year he will be ready to take the rod out of the holder and all, I can hardly wait.

Now it is time to get ready for my Grizz hunt after that I am home for two days and then off again for Moose for two weeks.:biggrin:
