Thanks, but I'd prefer to stay away from the dealers.

Just asked cyrus for an estimate on replacing rear seal or barring to right rear end, $700.00. anyone interested in an 09 kodiak 450 before i toss it in the garbage?

Takes an hour or so to replace bearing and or seal. Go onto you tube and check it out. Using heat makes it a snap. Just replaced both front bearings on my Grizzly 700.

I have my quad all apart in the garage. Kids had it up there last weekend. It had a full tank. They ran it up and down the mountain in first gear. Kinda hard on a four stroke. Well the reverse light wont come on. So now it wont start with the electric start. Just pull start. Now I have to replace the reverse relay. Then the muffler fell off. I can ground out the relay. But then it can start in any gear. Not safe. I will get a new relay and weld up the muffler. I also can remove a pin. So my differential lock will work in any gear. That is a simple mod. Lots of fun owning a quad.

If anyone needs a bike backyard mechanic I would recommend Greg, AKA Big Booger on Dualsport.com 604-230-1086 Odds are he can fix quads too. Motorcycles also have bearing in the wheels and they are not hard to do. I have changed boat trailer bearings and seals several times
