Elko area info anyone?

Hey all!

Just heading out the door here in Elko, bow in hand... Up with my father looking for a big dry cow as he is 65 now. Wondering if any of you could send me in the right direction for some big whitetails or mulies in this area?? Here for another week and it is a totally new area for us.

Rifle season in two days! Hope everyone is as excited as me!

I would head down towards Grasmere south of Elko and hunt on either side of the road. Ask at the store in Elko where Fusee lake is, as the forest Service did a spring burn down there this past spring or last summer, should produce something. Either that or head towards Koocanusa and hunt north of the road by Kikomum creek and Rock cr? rec sites. May be something in there.

Fusee lake is the best place to go. Every year there is a herd that moves through there. Or Grassmare would also produce elk. Lots of land owners will give permission if you ask nice.
