After 4 days in the Kane valley flushing does and one button buck, we moved on to the bush just east of Barriere. We hunted pretty steady and saw nothing but does yet again. Then Saturday afternoon, we head back to camp to get Mom and sis to take them for a drive sight seeing. After one snotty road in particular that Mom wanted no part of she suggested we try another road we'd passed by earlier. Low and behold Shane spots a good buck in the tree line. Turns out to be 160 yds and likely 100' above the road. With the whole family along for the short trip, Shane tags his first critter on his own license. It was a fantastic day. The screaming in the hills could be heard for miles I'll bet

Moms still not taking up hunting be she sure is happy to have been along for this ride.

He started his day as a 4x4 in velvet, but by the time we had finished dragging him through the crap, the velvet was all gone.

He tried his hand at caping out the head, we're getting a European mount done for him.
It wasn't that hard a drag, but all those damn logs!!!!:roll:

BTW, Kudo's to Mr.Dean for showing us the lay of the land. I hope he scores a good one himself this coming week.

Shane...a big congrats on your deer.

1) Tiffany and Bevan are real jealous right now.

2) Good for you on showing your dad what a 4pt looks like. Thats why he did not see it..............he thought they were mytholgical creatures and doesn't think they exist.

3) I changed your custum user title to one that is now appropriate.

4) Again...congrats. Hope I am invited to the steak BBQ. Our household is very excited for you.

5) I knew you were excited when you had to use up your dad's cell phone minutes to call me you got one. LMAO.

After reading comment #2 all comment #4 will get you is a femur across that newly fixed beak of yours :biggrin::biggrin: But that will upset the dog, as she's already waiting for them!!

Seems to me I cleaned the last buck for my son---and he's 30! Okay. Time to watch him do it. The family that hunts together---blah blah blah--
Does he know that 5-13 was only open for 4 point mulies or those whitetail varmints? Imagine if we could be so lucky! Way to go kid! Now be prepared for a few moments in your life when you're not so lucky. Ha! Ha!
Thanks for the great post of the kids.
