I was walking up a dirt road in the evening and was just about to turn and head back when this 3 point walked across the road. A 15 yard shot and a 40yard tracking job, i had my first deer with a bow

The next 3 days were filled with failed stalks with my dad but our friend got a doe and a buck. The buck was right along the river where i was fishing so i ran back to camp and got him. Luckily the buck was still in the river, than we saw the wounds on the hind quarters. We decided to take the buck and put it out of his misery.

The last morning 5mins into my walk i saw a fat doe and took a 30yard shot.

Looks very much like it. Deep elliptical gash on the back and punctured pouch on the lower abdomen looks very much the way I did after a tiger attacked me. Long story, I am not going into it. I only say this it had to do with my profession as animal behaviorist and not because I wanted to pet a tiger in a zoo.

Congratulations MerrittBow on a great buck and eventful hunting trip. With a name like yours I got to ask. Are these deer taken around here in Gods Country?

Looks to be an arrow entrance and exit to me.. They can make a mean hole..

Maybe a crossbow.

Every time somebody shows a picture of an injured animal someone assumes it is done by a hunters. WHY??? Why are some so hellbent on blaming other hunters for everything? The only purpose that serves is to pour water onto the antis mill.
