Heres the story. This was my first time bow hunting. I had practiced with my bow with fingers and front sight only. My groups were okay, but not great.

Thats when I got informed that technology had changed and I should come out of the dark ages. So I went and got my bow tuned up with a peep sight, fiber optics, carbon fiber arrows, real broadheads, string dampeners, a release loop, and I got a trigger release. One thing I figured out just before the hunt was that the trigger pull was adjustable. Must had been set at around 8lbs before. WOW what a difference! Its down to about 3 now.

I had information that there were some deer on one of my friends property. I went over early to take a look and right away found a group of them. After seeing a few deer I decided this buck was the biggest. I put the stalk on him and arrowed him at twenty yards. Then he fell down a cliff and I broke my back hauling him out the 20 ft gully.

I took him in to Ray Wiens to see if the velvet could be saved (as the velvet was dryish). Will mount him as he is my first archery buck. Lots of fun doing it, I think I will bring my bow on my moose hunt. The end.

good job. I hate how they always run to the worst spot imaginable to die.

Nice buck! I chased those around with my bow around Chilliwack when I lived at the coast. They are bush commandos and make whiteys look relaxed. Good work.

Special thanks goes out to Open-sights, Elkhound, and Mr.Dean, and of course my bro who got me to where they were.

Open-sights, you made sure I was up to snuff with technology and came out for a day and helped me get set up. And you made your place available for me to practice. You were encouraging also and made me think I could make the shot when the time came.

Elkhound, you put me on the right path as far as what I needed to do. And you helped me figure out how to practice. I appriciate the time you spent shooting arrows with me.

Mr.Dean, thanks for helping me out with a spot to practice, and helping me with a place to cool my meat.

I couldnt have done it without you guys! Big Props to you!

C'mon now..... I cooked for ya AND loaned you tools too..... And if that wasn't enough, I also had to endure drinking whiskey with your wife.

Some pretty big sacrifices there......
Anywho, you're most welcome. Glad to be of help.

PS. the SuitCase Deer, is doin' FINE!

And you loaned me tools, and you poured us some good whiskey, and you cooked more than once, and you helped me with reloading, and you showed me how to make sausage, the list could go on and on!! Thanks for everything.
