when have you guys found to be the best time to hunt goats around revelstoke? Early in the season (nicer weather) Late season (when the goats move down)
what to most people do/have success doing?

i try to hold out till oct at the earliest for better hair.and from what i see there are not many places where goats "move down". when the rut kicks in billies will come into the nanny areas which are sometimes lower or my accessable.but don't wait for a winter migration to the valley bottoms.you'll be waiting a long time.

Thats a tough one. It depends on the area your hunting and weather conditions. I myself like the end of Oct. I like long hair on my goats. The Revelstoke area should be huntable in late Oct. Barring no early snowfalls that stay.

When the snow gets deep and the wind starts to howl, the goats actually move up the mountain. Steep wind ravaged slopes that shed snow have all the remaining vegetation.

The only exception is the coastal type which do move down

The mountains are also pretty high in elevation around revelstoke, snow might prove a problem for access. It also might be difficult for hunting up high, if there is too much snow.
