What is this?

A buddy of mine was out scouting an area 2 weeks ago with his nephew when he came across this in the bush...

My guess is that it's the decomposed hind foot of a bear. He searched the area for more remains, but found nothing. When he got back to town he decided to call the RCMP(just in case). When the officer arrived, he agreed that it did look like a human foot, but was likely just a bears foot. At any rate, the cop took the foot and said that it would be sent off for testing.

hahahaha thats great... i was driveing with my friend who is RCMP, and we passed a sneaker on the side of the road..... he didnt think it was funny when i suggested we stop and see if there was a foot in it! :)

Yeah looks bear to me.A guy I used to work with got a bear when he lived back east.They skinned it out,propped it up in a lawn chair,with a cowboy hat,set it in the garage,and waited for his wife to come home and turn on the lights.She had no sense of humour.They are now divorced.He said it looked like a man sitting there,albeit a freaky one!

Can't really tell from the pics but pretty sure it's bear as the last joint on a bears toe has a hinge joint which the claw rotates on.

Anyone who has ever skinned out a bear before will agree that they look like a human...pretty creepy actually...muscle groups etc. When I look at a skinned out black bear, it's like I'm looking at myself in the mirror before shower time.....except I'm more defined! Yeah right!
