Elaho Access?

How is the road up to Elaho Valley? Can you get in by car? or do you need a truck? THinking of going up to do some scouting.

the main road up is passable by car,just a little pot holey.But your going to need a 4x4 to access most of the side branches,lots of cross ditching/steep and rocky country.

Just was up there a couple weeks ago and the roads looked decent (keep in mind I parked at mile 20 and took my dirt bike the rest of the way) but yes you will be wanting a 4x4 in there. If you are targeting goats I did see one a ways away in the binos. Sure is some pretty country up there.

The main road has always been 2WD accessible as long as I've been going there. One April I took my family for an adventure up there and my son-in-law followed me driving the truck in an Avis Dodge station wagon up until the snow was too deep.
