Water can get pretty darn high at times with heavy fall rain. Don't have any experience on the river itself though, so can't help you there.

Don't fall over board!. Bell Irving is a glacial fed river. expect some snow and cold weather. I've seen grizzlies out into Nov on some years. watch the hillsides and around pockets of timber. A friend of mine had the draw north of meziadin lake. It was snowing and blowing that day in late Oct.

Take someone with you, you do not want to put your family through this type of ordeal.

I talked to the guys fishing out of Bell II a couple of years back & IIRC there are lots of log jams on it up & down out of Bell II.
I'd call em.

most of the jams are downstream of Bell II and they are prety nasty...

The Bell Irving was part of my ranger district many years ago ( 71 - 73 ). Lots of log jams and sweepers its full length along with many backwater runs. Like earlier comments - its glacier fed with poor visibility for rocks and shallows. watch out for the devils club. Sockeye travel into Bowser lake and area supports a good bear population.

Thanks Shotgunner, is there any spots that would be good for treestand and a Bow for feeding bears? My wife won't let me hunt the on the groundwith the bow only a rifle. Maybe if I piss her off then she will tell me to hunt them on the ground with a pointed stick.
