Packed and ready to go. I'm heading off to 7-50 and the nearby regions for the next 11 days, with members "Dad and Son" and "Theo". We'll be targeting moose, caribou, elk, you name it, and also do some fishing. Will keep you guys updated as often as I can with the iPhone. Wish us luck!

Only wishing that I was in your shoes! :-(Good to hear that you’ll be sharing your hunts with some other HBC members that seem to be knowledgeable, serious and devoted to hunting.
My prediction! You’ll be fishing sooner than you think.:-)

I checked the weather forecast on HAMWeather for 7-50 more or less. The forecast is for much colder weather from next Wednesday(19th) onward- probably dropping to freezing or close to it in the higher altitudes.

BON VOYAGE!

And not everyone is comfortable with drugs and drug paraphernalia. Check with your new hunting partners if they allow drugs and/or cabbage in camp before your trip.

Reporting from Hudson's Hope public library: day two right now, a pit stop at the library where Glenn is handling some business, sneaking in a few minutes on the net.

Looks like the weather's pretty fair and we've already seen pickups with moose back, so we're hopeful. Saw a nice 3-pointer on the hwy north of Quesnel with some good length on the main beam.

Will add more to this story I'm sure! :D

(Theo as in Theo... ;) He's a new guy)

Short update from Fort Nelson:

3 moose are down from our party of 4. I shot the first one, a 7x5 tri-palm bull. Decent one for my first, I'd like to say. :)

No pics yet as I'm in the Visitor Centre, can't upload.

Seen tons of caribou on the highway, but no 5-pointers. Will be hunting for antlerless elk in 7-50.

More of this to come I'm sure. :D

The young fella is like a son to me. I've taken him under my intraweb wing. I'm sure he'll drop a box of roasts, steaks, and burger off at my place for all the valuable insight I've shared with him. 8)

PS - congrats RP on popping your moose cherry. http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif

I can't believe someone would take time out of their hunt to actually go to town and post results:shock: Addiction to the internet is apparent.

congrats on the moose, but we can wait till you get back home for an update. Plus there is a rule about posting hunting results without pictures you know:smile:

Thanks for the well-wishes. Our trip is rounding down, we've saw a lot of caribous but nothing legal, and one bull elk that simply bolted too fast. Much more detail when I get back, we're gonna go fishing somewhere between Ft. Nelson and FSJ in the meantime.
