Are there any wild turkeys in the Peace River area of BC or is that too far north?

Wayyyyy too cold up there!. You'll find them in the southern interior and kootenays.

I figured it was cold-but if grouse could survive-couldn't turkeys?

There are wild turkeys in Hudson Hope.....Eventually they will probably be province wide.

there are a few like in very few not something you see every day. i saw one on the way to hudson hope this spring. first one i have ever seen up here. seems like every few years some one turns either turkeys or pheasants loose up here to establish a population with little sucess.

with the number of preditors[wolves, coyotes, bobcats, etc] they will need a breeding nucleus to be sustainable-but as for surviving cold-they have thrived in the east with very cold winters.I would think food and cover would be more important.

Poor cell phone pic, but you get the idea....Think the flock of hens and chicks I saw had maybe 30 or so in it....(just happened to see the pic as I was looking for something else, hence the bump).
