Yup thats right the little 30/30 strikes again, ol' pop nailed a beaut of a blacktail this morn at about 80 yards, this was one of the worst pack outs i've ever done, like fools we dragged him up hole http://huntshoot.coastangler.com/hunting/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif , he ran probably 500 yards downhill with a single lung shot, luckily we had 4 guys so we took turns pulling, it took about 2.5 hrs to get him out, in some spots the snow was knee deep,
Here's some pics, the terrain pic doesn't look all that steep, believe me it was....the buck expired about 60 yards from the bottom treeline http://huntshoot.coastangler.com/hunting/images/smilies/eek.gif I just had to get in there for one pic, (photo album purposes) http://huntshoot.coastangler.com/hunting/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif the group pic is my bro, uncle and dad,

Well done!
Hunted for years with a 94 with Williams sights.
I had a lot of luck with that rifle.
All said and done it was worth the effort, wasn't it?

thanks everyone, it definetly was a great day on the mountain, the effort was well worth the prize, I am starting too think this gun is lucky, every time someone uses it they get a nice animal,
