Here's another buck that eluded us for several years. Any score guesses on this one? We have his sheds so I do actually know what he scores.

crabclaw fronts by the looks of things but great backs, probably a 195 typical if he had matching fronts but he doesn't. Probably still goes in the low 180's though

Awesome clips!Right side looks strong, left a little small on the front?
I'm guessing 178 net.Typ.

Here's a hint, this buck is a non-typical 8x8. Have a look at the sheds and see if you need to adjust your guesses. ;)

When I filmed this buck that winter, I really underestimated him. I was thinking he would gross right around the 200 inch mark. It was a long wait for the snow to melt for us to go looking for his sheds. My buddy beat me to the sheds and when he brought them over, it was neat to see my 200 inch estimate was well under what he was on the hoof. This buck added over 30 inches in 1 year. The previous year he was just a dink 180 typical. :) We also have the sheds off him from that year.

I see the snow is fairly deep when you are videotaping him. How do you get around when the snow is that deep? Do you use snow shoes? Also, are the dates from the films accurate? I am just trying to understand the methods to your madness, if that is possible!

Your guess is bang on for the net mainframe. Just think if he had of had big fronts to go with his big backs. He would have been pushing 220. Those mains are super short though. He had those short mains both years I saw him. When you combine those big backs with his above average mass, you make up for what he is lackin' on his mains.
