There is not a lot that the fire crews can do now, they have pulled everyone from the ground fighting the front line, and they aren't able to use anything from the air until morning. Hopefully it doesn't reach La Casa or Fintry tonight. I even heard that they have a crew of people patroling the east side of the lake around Lake Country just in case this fire jumps the lake. This whole thing is just crazy.

Unbelieveable how big this fire is now!. I hope that everyone makes it out okay. Man, what a year for fires.

Looking at Google Earth and where the flames were coming over the hill last night, it will be a miracle if the Fintry High Farms didn't get burnt last night. Their only hope is if the fire curled along the south face of the valley. Hopefully they can get good conditions today and bomb the hell out of it.

We were listening to the fire crews radio on www.scanbc.com (http://www.scanbc.com) last night and at 7 they said they had done all they could and pulled everyone....

Just click on http://ltr.tac9.ca:8000/kelowna.m3u and it should work. You get fire dept on one speaker and forestry/air on the other.

It grew by 2500 hectares on Saturday. I'll post some pics of the smoke cloud I took yesterday evening.
