I’ve had my bow for a couple of years now, but only started hunting with it last year. I bought it second hand and have been using the arrows it came with (Easton xx75’s) but I’m thinking of switching to carbon arrows. Do most people use carbon arrows for hunting game? I’ll be going after Elk and Deer. Can anyone recommend a good carbon/broadhead combo for Elk and Deer? I’m planning a trip to Cabelas in Post Falls next month and I was thinking of getting the new arrows there.

A good friend of mine - and a long time bow hunter - just uses his aluminium arrows for grouse, rabbits, and what-have-you, not for ant "real" hunting.

I've been using Gold Tip carbons for so long now that I can't remember the last time I shot alums....

As for a recommendation - I'd say this one will not let you down...http://www.goldtip.com/xthunter.htm

Assuming that you're shooting something in the order of a 60 - 70 lb bow, I'd say go with the 7595's as they have a good weight to them and will give you a very respectable KE on that Moose, Elk, Bear, or Deer.

This will also give you some pertinent information...http://www.goldtip.com/selection.htm

Good luck hunting and don't forget to practice, practice, practice. When you are done practicing, practice some more.

to extend Walkers anser a bit ...I agree with him fully ... I am using GT this year ... I have always used Eastons before

I think ....most people use carbons simply because either they are screwed or good where as there is always a question with straightness with alums ..
