Being a moose and deer hunter all my life and not really being around to many sheep, i have a question that most people will think is stupid. Do sheep feed at night like moose and deer or more during daylight hours?

Not a stupid question, Id assume both, like moose and deer!

early in the season rams will get up at first light and begin to feed for three or four hours then bed down until around noon when they will feed again for a short while then bed down again and feed again in thel late evening.

Rams don't travel much at night unless spooked. late evening and early mourning is when the do most of the travel.

Howdy, bridger and Bowtime are both right, if you have spotted some rams at nightfall they will probably be up and feeding at daybreak basically in the same spot you saw them the night before.

One time we found a group of rams in the evening and at the crack of dawn we found them across the valley on another hill.

A closer look on the hill where they should have been we spotted a medium size grizzly which probably got them on the move while it was still dark. Later

What type of info are you looking for? Still looking for feeding info. They are pretty much like stones as they feed in the morning and evening primarily. Get up and feed a little during the day, I think this is more of way to stretch their legs etc.

It's good in September as well as October.

Up north september is usually a bit better weather wise. Generally they get less precip than in August.

If you're looking for rockies don't look in the pretty stuff and you'll have a big leg up on most of the other sheep hunters out there. ;-)
