Out for a little camping trip last week with the family and saw a few healthy lookin' critters... This one buck looks good for 3rd week of July... another month to GROW! Hopefully the tracking device sticks... ;) Any guesses?

No LEH here, but I'm always psyched about open season in BC. I'm due for some elk steaks for the freezer, too.

Anyone else seeing much velvet???

Im puting money on them bouncing hell out of dodge come opening season. They dont get that big sitting still in open fields. Thanx for the pics and good luck if you do take a stab at em.

That one buck looks like he would score around the 170 mark ,nice snap shots of the three bucks.

He looks a little lopsided with strong and weak tines on both sides. Nice looking buck. Good chance he'll gross in the mid 170's by the time he's done. Won't have much of a net but IMO nets are only for fish. For most guys a buck like that is a shooter. For a very few, he's a buck that would be passed on. If you like him, go for him on opening day!

Thx. guys. Yeah it made that part of the trip interesting. I saw a big whitey too, but he disappeared before I could get the binos on him...

Yeah '47 - that's about what I figured... a little weak in the back but decent width and main beams.

How much do you figure he'll grow in the next ~month?

Opening day, I'll be chasin' buglin' bulls. I wouldn't hunt them anyways, but I will be back in the highland snows chasin' the BIG one that escaped a few year ago... that's probably his son or nephew in my avatar & I hope this is one of his rubs headin' into the jungle. Keeps me dreamin' anyways...

Good one Jel! I had gramps in my sights at ~400 yards but wasn't confident and hesitated... he never knew I was there. My dream his nightmare... :)
