I've been wanting to get into sheep hunting for a few years now but the few hunters I know are not as interested as I am or are not in very good shape. I think I know the area where I would like to start but have only spotted sheep there and lots of them in November. I know this is a wintering area and my question I have for you sheep hunters is when do you figure sheep start to migrate to there wintering grounds? Do sheep stay in there summer homes into late october or move before them? I know my question may be kind of vague because I did not name the winter range where I've spotted these sheep but any info would be great.

They've got about 7 different 'ranges'. Depending on where you're hunting bighorns things start to move around the second week of October or at the least the rams begin 'fanning'. Last couple days of the season are the best for a reason, as long as you know where and how to look.
