I got a draw for whitetail doe/spike buck starting October 10th and I'm hoping my 10 year old daughter will be lucky and get her first deer. I've hunted the area around Cranbrook with my 3 sons but not the area around Castlegar or 4-16. Any advice on where I might take her. She has been practicing with a Marlin 336Y Spikehorn (Banner 4x scope) using 150/170 power ponts and the new Hornady 160s and a Ruger Stainless Model 77 Lightweight in 30 06 ( Elite 3200 3 - 9 x 40) currently using Remington's Managed recoil 125s. It just depends on how far she will have to make her shots as I'm not familiar with the turrain in the area. Currently she is grouping @" to 3" at 100 yards with both rifles. Any advice is greatly appreciated.:smile:
