Sheep meat is quite excellent, I've harvested two Stones rams that were very good eating. It's all about what they eat, I took a Californian ram that lived in the dry sage brush country and it had a sagey flavor but the Stones were high up in the alpine eating green gasses and nibbling on bushes.

Stone is definatly better than the bighorns, been to long since I had dall meat. I think they are all quite excellent though with how tough they are to get.

Yep. Considering that near the end of sheep hunt you're so hungry that you would eat the ass out of a skunk, Sheep meat is thee best meat in the world.

It's still pretty good once you get back home.

I liked both bighorns that I've eaten so far.

Howdy, everyone is right about possibly the best tasting wild meat there is. The wife just loves it although she turns up her nose at a gamey smelling moose. Later

the best is too bar b que the ribs over a willow fire always take some bar b que sauce and leave it at base camp. make the effort and bring the ribs you won't regret it. the second best thing about sheep hunting.

Second to none.

Anything you backpack out of the mountains for some distance tastes good, even an old billie.

After three days in spike camp we took a full curl and the tenderloins over a fire with some ichiban soup might as well been a meal set for a king

Anyone that I have spoken to say that Sheep meet is at the top of the game meats.
I was luckie to have taken a Dahl & a Stone in the past.
