"RESULTS THROUGH RESPECT"/A TRAINING SEMINAR PRESENTED BY DOUG GRANT

 The Okanagan Retriever Club will be hosting a 2 day retriever training seminar on July 25th and 26th in the Enderby/Grindrod area of BC. All breeds of hunting dogs are welcome.

The seminar will be led by retired professional retriever trainer Doug Grant (aka Bopper), and is open to all breeds and anyone interested in training their dog as a useful hunting companion. Doug trained professionally for over 30 years, and was involved in the training of 13 Field Trial Champions, multiple MH's, and countless successful gundogs. In addition to his extensive retriever experience, Doug has also trained pointers and spaniels.

Topics covered will include basic obedience, force fetch, training with or without an e-collar, land and water marks, steadiness, sit to flush, pointing, introduction to blind retrieves, and much more. This will be a great opportunity to get some hands-on training and to watch dogs at various levels progress through their training. Everything from puppy basics to advanced training concepts and more will be covered.

Cost of seminar includes a tailgate BBQ/social on Saturday evening, Doug's training manual and access to over 45 years of successful dog training expertise.

There is dry camping available at the site and the Shushwap River is 5 minutes away so bring your swimming gear.

Pre-registration is mandatory. We will limit the number of pariticipants to 14 so there will be ample time for individual instruction and problem solving.

Please contact Brian Griffin for more information, costs etc.

No matter what breed of gundog you have, or at what age or stage of training, this clinic should be a lot of fun........meet some great people; get some training tips & work your dog; Brian's training grounds near Grindrod are some of the best in Western Canada; the weather forecast is good; there is free camping available; there will be a free barbecue on Saturday with salads & corn on the cob and WINE!!! There is space for two more participants, so get your entry in to Brian (labguy). We're looking forward to seeing you there! :-D
