My old matrin is getting close to 10 it is about time I got a new bow. I blewout my shoulder a few years back so a nice stick bow is out of the question. I am looking for something smooth with 65% letoff. I will probably shoot a release as well. My draw length is 31" so I need a longer draw 30" draw limits are too short i can not get a consistant anchor with them. Any help is appreciated .

Get out and shoot a bunch of bows. I personal like Alpines, but really any new bow is gonna be so much nicer than your 10 year old bow it won't matter.

Go to a pro shop and play around.

Alpines are very user friendly, and are also very reasonable in price.

Mathews X2

I bought the Reezen a while ago, scary accurate and a dream to shoot.

31" draw with a bummed shoulder ... probally looking at something around a 37" A2A ....

I would have a look at the Bowtech Sentinal, An APA Black Mamba XL, Friend of mine was selling his 2007 model Hoyt Ultra 38 (he is 31" draw)..he just got a Black Mamba XL because he has a buggered up shoulder (he says its an easier draw, smoother and faster using the same arrows, A hoyt Vantage Elite would be a great bow for long draw as well as a weak wing ...if you can get around the shoot thru riser, not all that fast but a deadly accurate bow. I would also look at a Martin Scepter 4 ..Not terribly fast but has a true let off of 65% ...I cant figure out why hunters want an 80 or better let off ... its sloppy (so what if you can at full draw for 10 minutes...;)) 43" A2A with the furious X cable system you will have a pin driver

I owned an older Martin Phantom @ 50 lbs and upgraded to a new (at the time) '06 Diamond Liberty @ 60 lbs. I was thinking that I should stay with a 50 lb bow because my Martin was a bit tought to draw (it had a 70% letoff), but I ordered a 60 lb Diamond and was really surprised at the ease with which it drew back. It came with an 80% letoff and the parallel limb design - also the idler wheel was a good 4" in diameter compared to the older 2.5" to 3" idler on the Phantom.

Don't worry about trying to match the 65% letoff - go with the 80% that is the norm theses days, you won't be disappointed.

PSE X-Force HF 6! 27" draw @ 58lbs with 365g hunting arrow 311 fps. Most forgiving and deadly bow I have ever shot. You can't go wrong

i also shoot a x force 6.. its a great bow other then the fact it only goes out to 30 inch draw...there is a pse x force series called the long draw i think it has a 8 or better brace height up to 31 inches i believe and super forgiving for my x force 6 is not the slightest move at 40 0r 50 yards and your off by a mile. i would suggest somthing else though for a bum shoulder for there is quite the wall when pulling agianst the agressive cams of the x force.

i shoot a lot of 3d and i pull a 70 lb bow i can shoot it all day long but latly ive been feeling it the next day in my elbow and shoulder,

I have owned PSE's, Martin's, bowtech's and always keep coming back to hoyt.....until now. In my humble opinion, the best bow on the market today is the Elite GT500. 35" ATA, over 7" brace height and VERY fast. Even though it is a high letoff bow, it is in no way "sloppy" due to draw stop posts both top and bottom that contact the limbs, not the cables.....better wall than my ultratec with spiral cams!! For accuracy, this bow equals some longer ATA and higher brace bows I have owned in the past such as my Hoyt protec (37 ATA, 8" BH)...and it does it while shooting 325 FPS. Like most of the good parallel limb bows out today it is very still in the hand and is also very quiet at the shot. all in all it is a very well rounded bow that will do it all, from hunting to 3D and would even do well shooting FITA.

Just my opinion
